WINDOW DESIGN

I have over ten years of experience of project managing large and small scale creative installations for retail and gallery spaces. Drawing inspiration from art, music, nature, my clients and their brands i have successfully delivered a wide range of beautiful and engaging window displays.

From concept to production I have maintained budgets and critical paths diligently.

I have spent much of my career collaborating with and championing the unseen artists and artisans behind retails most spectacular window displays.

Here you can see just a few of my projects with some of my favourite brands.

David M Robinson x Frederic Forest - Dream, make, love

This project was a personal highlight for me as i have been an admirer of Frederic's work for a long time. I had wanted this window to be a celebration of the goldsmiths and artisans at the heart of the David M Robinson brand. The link between Frederic's honest, elegant line drawings and the purity of the goldsmiths craft made absolute sense. Frederic created five original artworks for us, all focusing on the hands - the main tool of the goldsmith and also one of the most expressive, tender and romantic parts of the human body.

FASHION SCHOOL

As a stylist for this window the challenge was to narrate a story using fashion. Each window represented a school subject / classroom setting and i developed a character for each mannequin conveying this to the audience in the outfit building. There were lots of gorgeous small details running through this window. To see more pictures of Fashion school please take a look at the reel on my home page.

JUST FOR YOU

In the brands 50th year the marketing team and myself decided that the Christmas creative should celebrate all things gold. I wanted to create movement in the windows whilst keeping the concept elegant and simple aligning with the brands luxury aesthetic. I thought the idea of a gold ribbon flowing through the window as though it had been excitedly torn from a present would make a dynamic and sculptural window whilst also remaining festive and celebratory. I designed this window and briefed production into Take 1 Scenic who helped me research materials that would give me the fluid effect i wanted. The concept was completed by the addition of individual 'exploding' presents which we used to focus the VM on key gifting items.

CHRISTMAS IN OUR CITY

Inspired by the work of Freida McKitrick I was tasked to bring 'The Red Umbrella' Christmas card scene to life in our Liverpool window. In collaboration with Take 1 Scenic and Freida herself we developed a rich, atmospheric and playful scheme. I carried miniature details through to the interior and even to the Christmas tree decoration creating a fully immersive festive experience.

Freida has lived in Liverpool for much of her life and as Liverpool is where the David M Robinson brand began this snowy Liverpool scene felt very special.

VOGUE 100

For Vogue magazines 100th anniversary the Harvey Nichols team installed a 'home' themed window along Sloane street. During this project i primarily worked on mannequin renovation and prop sourcing. Working with a talented felt work artist I created delightfully realistic mice which were dressed into the window in a playful and mischievous manner. The modern, fluorescent dolls house you can see in this image was also a sourced prop.
